The famous impressionist, actor, and “Saturday Night Live” alum will appear in Traverse City on Friday, April 11
On the heels of announcing headliner Marc Maron and the Funny Women of a Certain Age Show, the Traverse City Comedy Fest is pleased to announce actor, impressionist, and popular “Saturday Night Live” cast member Jay Pharoah will perform at the 2025 festival on Friday, April 11.
Pharoah will perform one show only at the Park Place Hotel at 7:30pm on April 11 (doors at 6:30pm). The actor and comedian is one of the industry’s most highly-anticipated leading men.
He most recently starred in the biopic “Spinning Gold” as Cecil Homes, the right-hand man of 1970s record producer and Casablanca Records co-founder Neil Bogart. Pharoah also starred in the Toronto International Film Festival triumph “The Blackening.” In the last few years, Pharoah has appeared in Comedy Central’s “Out of Office” alongside Ken Jeong and Oscar Nuñez, in Netflix’s “Resort to Love,” and in the Lionsgate thriller “Private Property.”
Best known for his spot-on impressions, Pharoah spent six seasons as a cast member on NBC”s “Saturday Night Live.” In 2017, he shifted to his first leading role as Floyd Mooney in Showtime’s “White Famous.” He also starred as J.J. Evans in ABC’s Emmy Award-winning Live in Front of a Studio Audience version of “All in the Family” and “Good Times.” He hosted and produced the Nickelodeon hit gameshow “Unfiltered” and has had roles in “The Mitchells Vs. the Machines,” “Unsane,” “Sing,” “Get a Job,” “Remote,” “Family Guy,” “The Simpsons,” “Bojack Horseman,” and “Robot Chicken.”
In addition to acting and his stand-up, Pharoah released his first EP titled “Spittin Image” in August 2021. The tracks are a marriage between Pharoah’s spot-on impressions and his love of songwriting and rapping. Pharoah continues to headline comedy clubs across the country throughout the year.
Tickets for Pharoah’s Traverse City show will go on sale to the public on Wednesday, November 20 at 10am at www.TraverseCityComedyFest.com. Tickets are $45-$65. Tickets are also on sale now for Marc Maron’s two festival headlining performances and for the Funny Women of a Certain Show, all scheduled to take place on Saturday, April 12. More festival headliners and programming will be announced in the coming weeks, with additional ticket sales to follow.
